Fon joins forces with Landatel to help service providers take advantage of WiFi4EU

On Tuesday, the European Parliament approved the European Commission’s proposal to improve public WiFi across Europe. The WiFi4EU initiative aims to increase connectivity throughout the EU, which will bring numerous benefits for citizens and visitors alike.

Fon is extremely excited about WiFi4EU, and we want to support all system integrators interested in this initiative. Which is why we’re delighted to announce a new partnership with Landatel! The communications systems and value added services wholesaler will distribute Fon’s WiFi Service Management Platform (WSMP) to any Service Provider (SP) interested in managing access services over WiFi networks, ensuring they will meet all the centralized authentication requirements required by the European program WIFI4EU.

Fon’s WSMP features a centralized management console which allows SPs to define and segment different networks, and to apply different access modes and WiFi experiences on each segmentation. This way, the SP can easily manage heterogeneous networks from different manufacturers.

In addition, service administrators and the SP can deploy and manage multiple use cases in a unified way: use cases such as Public WiFi, Retail WiFi, and WiFi on Transport Hubs.

Fon’s WSMP offers:

– A unified management and control of different services

– A reduction in operative costs

– And, the opportunity to generate new revenue sources

Alex Puregger, our CEO, commented, “Our solution for managed WiFi services is unique within the industry, and with it we want to support all system integrators interested in this initiative by offering WiFi services in an easy and scalable way.”
