BT and Fon Launch Pay with Amazon to Millions of WiFi Hotspots
- BT and Fon customers can now easily purchase WiFi access passes with Pay with Amazon, and connect to millions of hotspots powered by the BT-Fon network
6 APRIL 2016. MADRID – Fon, the global WiFi network, and its partner, leading UK communications company BT, are excited to announce a fast, familiar, and secure way for customers to purchase WiFi access passes: Pay with Amazon.
WiFi access passes enable customers to get connected on the go to the UK’s largest WiFi network, with over 5 million hotspots nationwide powered by BT and Fon. The incorporation of Pay with Amazon means that customers can now use their Amazon account details to make their purchase.
“Pay with Amazon allows us to bring the customer experience to the next level and provide a secure and seamless connection experience,” said Alexander Puregger, Fon’s CEO. “By partnering with Amazon, we are able to provide customers with a familiar payment option that they already know and trust.”
This new payment option saves customers from having to pull out their credit card by allowing them to use their Amazon account’s existing payment details, providing an efficient and convenient way to shop online. Pay with Amazon lets customers pay for their WiFi access seamlessly on tablet, mobile, and desktop devices in just a few taps.
“We are thrilled to be working with BT and Fon to offer customers a familiar and trusted way to purchase WiFi access at millions of hotspot locations across the UK,” said Patrick Gauthier, vice president, Amazon Payments. “Pay with Amazon makes it easy for millions of customers around the world to pay using their Amazon account.”
