Fon Celebrates World WiFi Day with Its Partners by Providing Free WiFi Access Across Six Different Countries

  • Telco giants BT, COSMOTE, KPN, Proximus, Telekom Romania, and Telstra will be participating in the event

 

15 JUNE 2016. MADRID – Fon, the world’s largest WiFi network, and six of its partners, all leading telecommunication providers, will be providing free WiFi access across six different countries in honor of the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA)’s first-ever World WiFi Day.

Participating partners include BT, COSMOTE, KPN, Proximus, Telekom Romania, and Telstra. Together, Fon and its partners will provide promo codes that unlock free WiFi access in the UK, Greece, the Netherlands, Belgium, Romania, and Australia.

“World WiFi Day is an important initiative for Fon because we are all about connecting communities and giving access to people via WiFi. We really believe in and support closing the digital divide. To celebrate, we are working together with our partners to open up access on as many networks as we can around the world. World WiFi Day will be celebrated around the world on June 20th, 2016 by over 40 key players in the industry, including Google, Intel, Cisco, AT&T, and Nokia. This new initiative aims to bring awareness to the importance of digital access, WiFi’s key role in providing connectivity, and celebrating the success of digital initiatives around the world.
